Poetry
I rushed to the stone tomb
My heart recalling Friday's doom
But little did I expect that day
To meet the Lord himself on my way.
I walked the long Emmaus Lane
My heart filled with the Crucifixion pain
But little did I guess that day
The Lord would have the Scriptures Say.
I went fishing in my old boat
My heart back to its former port
But little did I know the day's catch
Would be set in the sea by a miraculous match.
I rushed to the Tiberias shore
My heart wanting to believe it more
My joy went all the way higher
When the Risen Lord prepared a meal by the fire.
I shut myself in a room to hide
My heart afraid to step outside
But the Lord himself appeared out of nowhere
Removing my fear to go out and dare.
I have seen the Lord who broke the gates
Of death to win us an eternal fate
Now every forthcoming ever date
Will be worth a lifetime wait.
I have seen the Lord who rose
The one whom I always chose
My heart is all over the top
For the Alleluia song will now not stop.
I have seen the Lord
My eyes have seen His majestic light
It is the most beautiful sight
For earth unto heaven has been made right.
I have seen the Lord
An all consuming love burns
For the Same Spirit it readily yearns
That raised Him up and dwells in me
One day a new creation to be.
I have seen the Risen Lord
Easter is now the forever song
As for life in the highest realms we long
Ascending together with Him in time
As Eternity bells in heaven chimes.
