I used to look at pictures of couples in magazines and award the best in my heart. When I came across pictures of some couples I'll get angry. To me,the groom was handsome and the bride wasn't beautiful or vice versa.
"Why would he do this to himself, is he blind?" I'll ask myself.

It baffled me that someone would want to spend forever with that kind of person or face.
(Please this was when I was younger)

Later I got to understand that character makes what seems ugly beautiful. True but recently the Holy Spirit taught me something else.

I watched a video someone recently shared titled "When I knew I loved my wife and it wasn't on the wedding day".
Psychology says there are seven stages of falling in love-for men though:appreciation,infatuation,attraction, impression,conviction,reaffirmation and commitment.
When planning a wedding ceremony you aren't in love yet but just committed to a feeling.

    Going on a date, buying flowers, going to see a movie all fall into the commitment stage not love.

The answer the Holy Spirit gave me was love.
And I said " If love is what would make someone marry like that  then love is truly blind "
Perhaps He laughed at my childish reasoning.

Love isn't blind. Never. It is the other seven stages that are blind.
We can never really define love or understand it. Can I say any other definition on Wikipedia or others isn't love but those seven stages?

Love is beyond worthiness. It is beyond attraction. Love is beyond love. We never deserve it. Love is not blind to flaws or imperfections, it loves them. Love never dies. Love is incomprehensible. You can never understand it. I know this because if you really think about it, you Will never understand why love came to die for you.

I'm proud to say that love is Jesus only.
He said "If you are wondering how that man is going to live with that woman forever, ask yourself how Jesus came to die for you. Ask yourself how Jesus loves sinners. Not even small time ones, the big time ones too. Those who kill, stab,kidnap and commit worse crimes."

I still think about the fact that someone who has murdered a thousand, the innocent, someone who became the devil can still ask God for forgiveness and God forgives?
That is because love spans reasoning. It is beyond what we think. Love is beyond the physical.
Love is Jesus. Any feeling that isn't Jesus isn't love.
It is dangerous to marry without love (Jesus). Because it it is only love (Jesus ) that can last forever. It is the same type of love the bible talked about in Ist Corinthians 13:4-8.
Every description there fits Jesus. Marriage because of the seven stages will not last because those seven stages will not look beyond flaws and imperfections. It will get tired and irritated. It will diminish and want to go. The high rate of divorce is because of the presence of the seven stages in marriage and the absence of love which is Jesus only.
There is no way love will be present and anything still fails.
When people say love can't last forever, it isn't love they are referring to.
Because Jesus is forever so is love. If you have Jesus your love will last. So don't be worried about how you'll cope when you don't really love your wife as you used to according to you. You will always love your wife if you have Jesus. The other seven stages may go but love will remain.
A songwriter wrote "What if I tell you no God no love,I hope we'll still be friends"

A lot in the world needs love and that is why we have problems. My next write-up is titled " ' Its' love vs love-the greatest problem of the world is love and not lack of love "
