As the New Year slides in
Through the open window
Of our lives filled with days
Yet to be breathed upon.
We raise our eyes towards
The opening skies filled with grace
We await each flake to fall upon us
Day by day, month by month.
We lift up our hands in a pledge
To make this year an even better one
Than the ones that came and went before
To over write with a newer inset of memories in words.
We take a solemn oath
To make moments even more beautiful
To restore what we may have let pass earlier
To fulfill all that our heart has much to complete.
We draw closer and closer
To Emmanuel asleep in radiant peace
Allow the blessings that float around Him
Touch us to sprinkle and last forever.
This Blessing is not any regular one
It is Heaven's own privileged share
To be covered in Divine Bliss from head to toe
As it removes out all earthly woes.
