Of Gehazi’s Curse... 2 Kings 5:20-27

The sin of covetousness is totally against God's expectations of a new-birth child of His! Alas, many are stuck in this quagmire of spiritual filth today, in pursuit of the things that 'moth and rust can destroy'.

In the book of 2 Kings 5: 20-27, the Bible potraits the loving Grace of the most High in the healing of a Roman centurion named Naaman. In the same passage we understand that man's perverse and continual sinful nature leads his flesh into going against God without second thoughts.

Seeing our spiritual illhealth and helplessness,  SHOULD drive us towards God always, turning our hearts in repentance for His guidance and protection from the devil's manipulations to destroy us.
These portraits in Scripture serve as instructions and warnings to turn us to God and a life of godliness and away from a life of ungodliness... 1 Corinthians 10:6, 11-12
We also see that, though loving, God also passes instant judgement as the consequence of sin and disobedience... because of greed and covetuosness, Gehazi the servant of Elisha was struck with leprosy and his GENERATIONS! Afterall God says salvation is free... but what are the 'men-of-God' doing today? same character manifestation?
Christians are enjoined to aspire for successful living (above all, the spiritual), work hard and enjoy the fruits thereof in the inheritance of our father and all earthly treasures but; FREEDOM in CONTENTMENT (Luke 12;15) is the distinguishing trait of the true child of God. Envy, jealousy and greed is not a FRUIT-OF-THE- SPIRIT!

The leprosy of Naaman was transferred unto Gehazi,... "20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, thought, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Aramean, by not receiving from his hands what he brought. As the LORD lives, I will run after him and take something from him.” 21 So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him and said, “Is all well?"

Greed, lies and lack of contentment enveloped Gehazi who wanted to be paid for the miracle that God performed through his master Elisha. Many are like Gehazi today,insisting on reward for God's power and gifts given them by the most High for the edification of the Kingdom of God

Choose whom ye shall serve this day- Money, self, wealth, fame, people, position or living in obedience to the creator of the heavens and Earth.
