Many who are or were severely disadvantaged or even handicapped

in some way seem to accomplish more with their lives than many of  those

with obvious advantages.  The disadvantage has a way of summoning

forth a determination that won't be denied, a determination that is missing

in many lives with greater physical, economic and intellectual advantages. 

(Makes one wonder how much of a disadvantage it was after all.)

At the same time many who have achieved a lot on the world's stage and

in the worlds' eyes may not have achieved nearly so much in the light of the judgments

and rewards that eternity will bring.  While those considered insignificant or

colossal failures in the present may have surprising cause to celebrate then.  Something

similar was once expressed with words like this: "the first shall be last and the last first."
