Converting People to Christianity is not the Way

Did you know that in many countries it's illegal to try and convert people from other religions to Christianity? For those of us who actually follow Jesus, we know that trying to convert people to Christianity is not how Jesus did things. "Once you are healed of your disease, make sure to follow me or burn in hell forever and ever," said Jesus never. 

In 1 Corinthians 13:5 it says, "love is not self-seeking." Since God is love (1 John 4:8) and love is not self-seeking, manipulating people to convert to Christianity with fear and/or punishment is not only completely against what Jesus taught, but it's also unscriptural (read 1 John 4:18).

When we truly follow Jesus the way we're supposed to be, we never have to worry about breaking the "No Proselytizing" law because our goal isn't to convert people to Christianity anyway, it's to demonstrate the love of Jesus to people in radical ways, and then we let people decide what they want to do with that kind of love. 

Evangelism is not about converting people to Christianity, it's about preaching the Gospel which reveals the heart of God to lost people without any hope. As Christians, we are not sales people who pass out flyers to try and get everyone to come to our church, but we're people who are so in love with our Creator that we just can't help but to share that love with others.
