Praising God the Son (this Thanksgiving)…

Jesus, I thank You for dying in my place.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV).”

Jesus, You had compassion.

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd (Matthew 9:36 NKJV).”

You are a faithful friend.

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends (John 15:13 NKJV).”

Christ, thank You for peace.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27 NKJV).”

I’ll be forever grateful for Your promise of eternal life.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live (John 11:25 NKJV).”

This Thanksgiving, I celebrate Jesus’ promised return.

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV).”

Give thanks!
