Do you ever deal with spiritual doubt? I do. I know who we have to blame.

Listen to the opening words in the serpent’s conversation with Eve.

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden (Genesis 3:1 KJV)?”  [The full account of the spiritual fall of man is found in the remaining verses of chapter 3.]

To paraphrase …The serpent said to Eve, Did God really say…

The serpent goes under many aliases; the accuser and father of lies are included.

He does not play fair. He places seeds of doubt in our minds and uses lies to make them grow.

We can know his schemes and we can be victorious.

I will make a diligent effort to study God’s word. I’m strengthened by the countless times I read the authoritative ‘Thus saith the LORD.’

A handshake agreement is nice but a notarized written contract offers protection.  I am sealed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was tempted by Satan; He did not give in. He knew what his Father said and it was written in scripture.

Excerpts from Matthew Chapter 4:

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Verse 4)

“Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” (Verse 7)

“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Verse 10)

I have eternal salvation. It is written. (John 3:16)

I have it in writing.
