Are we scared of DEATH? Does the word "DEATH" frighten us? What is our attitude towards death?
Are we aware that today or tomorrow or someday in the future, we have to face death in our life.

Death is certain
Death is certain. The moment we are born on this earth, our death is tagged to our life. It becomes a part of our life. It is our natural vocation to life and the portal to our eternal happiness.
We have to be expecting it and lead our lives accordingly. It is not to be scared. rather, we can make it a pleasant event by preparing ourselves properly. By leading a life of love we can make death a pleasant event that we can always welcome with a smiling face.

Jesus shows us a hopeful way to face death
Jesus conquered death and gave it a new meaning. Death had been a killing factor of human thoughts. Jesus taught that we should not be afraid of death. He assured "eternal life" through believing in him. He promised that belief in him would free one from the slavery of death.

Jesus not only shows the way to conquer death but also he provides the "food for life" which enables one live a happy life of eternity. Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." (John 6:48-51 NIV)

In Christ, death is just a transition!
Through Jesus Christ, death helps the transition of human life. Through him, we are just transformed "from this world to the Father" (John 13:1 NIV)

Praise the Lord for "sister Death"
We have a life in Jesus Christ. We need not be scared at the thought of death. Like the nature saint Francis of Assisi, we can smile at death and say, "Praise be to you, my Lord, for our Sister Bodily Death"!

Death is our sister. Let us not be scared by its thought.
