When I received Christ I died to sin (Romans 6, v.11) and I died to the law (Galatians 2, v.19),  and I died to the world (Galatians 6, v.14),  but I came alive unto God. That is, I came alive by faith unto a trusting personal relationship with God. I came alive to the potential of moment to moment fellowship within that relationship. (I think it was Watchman Nee who said that fellowship flows within the bond of relationship like a current of electricity flows within a cord when an appliance is plugged in and turned on or activated. Following that analogy further, an appliance may be plugged in but not turned on, which is where the reckoning comes into play.  We need to stay "current" with Him.)   Reckoning myself alive unto God is like turning on the switch of fellowship with Him. ( I adapted a quote I saw recently on a billboard to say:  I love what I do almost as much as I love the One with Whom and for Whom I do it!)
I did not come alive primarily to a creed, or a philosophy, or a world view, or a set of rules or rituals, or a political ideology. Although all of these have their place and value, I don’t live by or for or unto them but I live for and by fellowship with God through the favor of a personal relationship that has been granted and made available to me when and though I did not deserve it. I must keep on considering or reckoning this to be true in order to enjoy functioning in the reality of it on a moment to moment and day to day basis.

It bears mentioning and remembering that true intimacy with God will be manifested and reflected in intimacy in the personal relationships we have with those who have been sovereignly and providentially planted in our lives.
