The Word for Writers

SOME poems will tell a story
(With readers swept along),
As it tells about a dog named..."Shep"
Or a love...that turned out wrong.

Its meter is perfection,
With rhyme that's so precise,
A tidy little package
All wrapped...and tied up ...nice!

Another paints a picture....(Picasso set to words),
Impressive to the
Genius....
Confusing to the
Nerds!

It speaks of abstract values
With lines...that are designed...NOT to fit!
The colors clash, the subjects fight....interpretation
Is up for
GRABS!

One says, "It's SPICE." Another, "Fruit!"
(But deep inside....who gives a hoot?)

So wouldn't it be...at LEAST as good
To paint a picture....that could be understood?

As:

A man in the throes of much pain
He received being struck by a train;
Said, "If I live FOREVER,
I think I shall NEVER
Say 'WHOA' to an Iron Horse again!"

Variety? Yes! It IS there!
YOUR thoughts? They're MEANT to be shared.
When you see how they 'read'
You will learn what you need
To make 'writing'....a PLEASING affair!
