Seamlessness

Think about the fact that the tunic of Jesus that, in fulfillment of the prophecy in Psalm 22 verse 18, the soldiers cast lots for in the gospel of John 19, verses 23-24 was “seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom” This was the tunic worn closest to his skin, an undergarment. It was seamless in its wholeness and unity as the natures of both God and man were united seamlessly in Jesus Christ, the God-man. There was no place to point to in order to say that this is where divinity stopped and humanity began or this is where humanity stopped and divinity began, The two natures were seamlessly and mysteriously united in one person, Jesus Christ. As it was true that there was not one part of Adam’s being (and ours after him) untainted by the Fall, so I think it is safe to say that there was not one part of the being of Jesus on earth untouched by His divinity. They were woven in one piece throughout or in one person from top to bottom in that Jesus was sent and descended to earth from heaven above, even as the temple curtain to the Holy of Holies was rent from top to bottom when Christ died on the cross. The way into the holy presence of the Father was initiated from heaven and from the side of divinity even though Christ died on earth. (Matthew 27, v.51) Consider too that it is when we believers function in seamless unity that we are closest to the heart of Jesus. Perhaps there will be a people on the earth before Christ's Return, in fact a people who will help to prompt His Return, who are so one they, like that garment, cannot or will not be torn apart. They would be so close to the heart of Jesus that He would not be able to resist coming back!
