RESURRECTION DAY

Sometimes I feel
Through life I'm walkin'
With one eye open and one eye shut.
The open eye sees the Face of my Father
The closed one sees darkness and lust.

Could two such people
Live inside the same head
It seems hard to imagine or fathom,
But I long for the pureness
Of Christ's Holy Vision
Yet I long for the sin and its chasm.

Split me asunder
Oh Sword of the Spirit
Cleave me twixt marrow and bone.
I'm tired of a lie and its sorrow
I'm longing for Jesus and home.

When I stand at the portals of heaven's reward
I will grasp what a gift You have given.
When I fly on the wings of the Wind of the Spirit
I'll retreat ne'er again
With my Lord I'll ascend
In the Risen One I shall be risen.
