We are in the night
at present
waiting, no, longing
for the eternal day.
All of life as
we know it now
is night life.
First came the evening
and then the night
and next comes the dawn
of eternal day,
the only day.
If someone asks you,
“how’s the night life
here?”
you might answer,
“night life? so what other kind of
life is there….except
eternal life?”

Concise, cute, good metaphorical use of day and night. Gets into thoughts. Saying waiting, longing does not jar but enhances what to look forward to. Night life? Sort of a play on the idea of worldly fun, pleasures, not the most important in the scheme of things.
