“Pray without ceasing.”   1 Thessalonians 5:17. New  King James Version (NKJV).

The above verse of the Holy Bible is the admonition of Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians. This must be heeded by every follower of Jesus Christ. He must be accustomed to tarrying in prayer.

Let me group this into two.

One, praying on various issues and items must be on consistent basis. Every believer must pray for himself, other believers as well as other nations and bodies.

Two, to pray on a particular issue or matter. This is a weak point on the part of believers. This also is what this piece is all about.

Do you have an issue that you want the Lord Jesus to settle for you. That is right. You have to be consistent in prayer. Your prayer on the issue ought not to be a part-time or an issue to be taken with levity. You have to be very serious with the issue.

You have to Pray Until Something Happens that is in conformity with your desire or better than it.

The keyword here is UNTIL, and not for a season or period.

Satan, the Devil, takes advantage of people to discourage them from their pursuit when it seems to be delayed. Please, note that delay is not the same as denial. The words of the Preacher, a King in Israel, and the son of David, has this to say,

“To everything there is a reason,

A time for every purpose under

     Heaven.”     Ecclesiastes 3:1. NKJV

If a good desire creeps up in your heart, which is fine. You must however note that you must give it “a gestation period”

     What do I mean?

See yourself like a farmer who deals in “planting desires”. Every good farmer is aware of the fact that every plant he has must have certain number of weeks, months, or even years before it begins to yield fruits.

     What does the farmer do?

He sows in faith and wait in hope for the time to harvest what he has sown.

In the same vein, you ought to sail through until you reach the harbour. Do not abandon the ship of prayer in the middle of the sea so that you will not be the looser.

PUSH, let every obstacle be steadily and surely removed. PUSH to ensure every hindrance is eliminated. Keep asking until the road is free from impediments. PUSH to receive the desire of your heart.

This was the case with Daniel in the Holy Bible. He said,

“I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant

Food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint

Myself at all, till three whole week is fulfilled.”   Daniel 10:2-3

He was consistent in his pursuit. He PUSHED. He was not wearied until an Angel of God came to reveal his heart desire to him. The Angel said,

“Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your

Heart to understand, and to humble yourself before God, your

Words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me, twenty-one days...”   Daniel 10:12-13.

By Daniel’s consistent and continuing prayer, he PUSHED away the obstacle on the way of his answer to prayers. What he ought to have received on the first day was delivered to him on the twenty-first day. Not how soon, but how well. The Lord answers prayers speedily but many times the host of hell resist the prayer of saints.

Therefore, be determined now and forever to Pray Until Something Happens in your life.

Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord. Shalom!
