YOU MIGHT BE A CHRISTIAN IF…

If you pray for your enemies and forgive those who wrong you, you might be a Christian. Sitting in a pew doesn’t make you a Christian. 

If you look for the good in others and don’t keep track of their wrongs, you might be a Christian. Carrying a Bible doesn’t make you a Christian. 

If you help the less fortunate and give money to the beggar on the corner, you might be a Christian. Saying “Amen” in the service doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you treat others the way you’d like to be treated and heap coals of fire on your adversary, you might be a Christian. Looking good at church doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you live by faith and not by sight, trusting the promises of God, you might be a Christian. Playing praise music doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you humbly seek God and align your life with the Master, you might be a Christian. Giving a few dollars in the offering doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you deal with controversy with a gentle spirit and choose to see other members as truly more worthy than you, you might be a Christian. Being friends with the pastor doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you have a heart of compassion for the unfortunate and do things to aid them, you might be a Christian. Singing gospel songs doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you seek to serve the needs around you and help the hurting, you might be a Christian. Hanging out with believers doesn’t make you a Christian. 

If you daily seek the Word to guide your life and never miss your time with God, you might be a Christian. Reading Christian books doesn’t make you a Christian.

If you know that it is Christ’s atonement on Calvary that makes you worthy of eternal life, you might be a Christian. Doing good works doesn’t make you a Christian. 

If you know that being an Adventist, Baptist, Catholic or Pentecostal isn’t what saves you, but trusting Christ’s merits, you might be a Christian. No denomination has special reservations in heaven.
