The unusual approach achieving great results.

Jesus gave a very unusual command to all who follow Him…

“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.”

Luke 6:27-36

Why did He do so? What was the reason behind a compassionate approach to all those who are against you?

Here the Lord explains this….

“They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.         ”

John 16:2-3 NKJV

The fact that those who are against us do not know who God is and thus they behave in an unworthy manner.

However how shall they know God? It is through our lives that they will know God, for if we react with the same violence and hatred towards them, will they ever find a difference in us from who they are?

People of God have always won the world with love and compassion.

The best example in the Bible is Paul, who himself was a great threat to Christianity as he persecuted the church with all his might, yet when he met the Lord God (as mentioned in Acts 9:1-22), he knew The Truth and when God changed his life, he became the preacher of the same faith he once persecuted.

Probably there are many such Paul’s today whom we dislike because of their hatred towards us, we have the choice-we can go the world’s way and be ‘bitter towards them’ only to invoke a greater bitterness in them for us or we can go the Lord’s way ‘loving them and praying for them’…who knows that we may be dealing with a future Paul who needs to be won with Godly love and not hatred.

Thank You Lord for your wonderful ways, for they may seem uncommon, yet they achieve great results. Help us to love and bless others as You have loved and blessed us.
