Family

    I talked to man who remembered a conversation with his mother that went something like this: 

 "Mom, I wish you were like your sister who had a chance to marry a man who would treat her right, and provide for her.  Instead you ended up with a man who is a mean drunk, and even speaks hatefully about God."

"Son, If I hadn't married your dad, then you would never have been born."

"I'm ok with that, Mom, I'd be ok with that."

"Oh, don't say that."

"I would rather not have been born and given you the chance of a better life."

"Son, will you do something for me?"

"What's that, Mom."

"Would you give Jesus a chance in your life?  Would you set the lifestyle you're living aside for a little while and just try Jesus? The old lifestyle and the darkness and the people with it will still be there,  if you still want to go back to them.  They will still be there, they won't go anywhere.  But Jesus may not always be here seeking you the way he is now.  Or you may not always be able to respond to Him if He is."

"Aw, Mom....."
