ICARUS

Why did I fly so close to the sun
Only to crash down and burn?
And why would I follow the God Of Creation
Then wallow in hell's noxious urn?
I can't fathom a grander design of pure failure
Than the life I have lived to this point
But I do hope I've learned how upon this strange road
To not get my nose out of joint.

Icarus flew, but only he knew
That the knowing was never the reason
I follow my God
Though often confused
To the far side of life's temporal season.
When I stand at His throne
I shall know and be known
Don't relax now your guard
Though the going gets hard
It's all worth it
To reap what you've sown.

"I have seen you defeated and hopeless
I've upheld you when all else have fled
In your weakness I often have held you
Remember, I suffered and bled,
So that you'd have a place in My Kingdom
So that you'd have forever a home
Not the den of a motherless orphan
Not the lair of a man left alone
I desire to know you and love you
Do not run from My love
Run instead
To My Father, the King of All Glory
To My Arms, to My heart, My Dear Friend."
