When You’re Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Start Chiseling! When we’re between a rock and a hard place, God gives us the “tools” to start chiseling away at our problems. With our prayers, He wants us to carve a beautiful piece of sculptured art from our rock of problems. The hammer hitting the chisel represents our pain, and tears. We all have problems that are too big for us to solve on our own. Our prayers go up to Heaven at odd hours of the night. They chisel away the heaviness of our hearts over our problems. Sometimes, we can win a “battle” with our own reasoning. But we may end up losing the “war” of the bigger problem with our short-sightedness. Oh, we think, “I can solve this one on my own,” and not bother asking for God’s help, nor ask for help at all. God loves and cares for us. He’s waiting for us to call upon Him. He always sends answers to our prayers from the heavens when we seek Him. An ancient king, named David had his own troubles. But, he wrote some reassuring words that are still true for us today: “For he will conceal me there when troubles come; He will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.” Psalms 27:5
