The little girl so loved her teddy bear.
It was placed in her crib the day she was born.
Seven years later, now showing signs of wear;
it truth, it looked a little forlorn.

She always gave it a good night squeeze.
Although for her, no one did the same.
She did everything she could to please,
but she no longer shared mommy's last name.

She tried to get along with her new step-dad,
and it seemed to work for awhile.
It bothered Teddy so much and made him sad.
It had been some time since she saw Teddy smile.

Teddy, don't worry. It doesn't hurt much.
See, Jesus will make us good as new.
She gave him her little motherly touch,
brushing away his tears like mommy used to do.

As time passed, Teddy took his blows and hits.
He withdrew and got quieter each day.
The gleam in his eye, no longer was lit;
as each time, he would hear her say.

Teddy, don't worry. It doesn't hurt much.
You see, Jesus will make us good as new.
Sleeping, she finally found a loving touch;
and from a world of pain and rejection, withdrew.
