Pray for the Body of Christ

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. Ephesians 1:15-16 NIV

We, as Christians, must continuously pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord. We should all have the same purpose in mind, the advancement of the kingdom of God. Jesus has told us that the harvest is plentiful, but, the workers are few. As there are few, rather than many, we must always pray for each other. The work that one does for the advancement of God’s kingdom may be finished by a brother or sister in the Lord. But, what should matter to all of us is that God’s kingdom is advanced. We do that which is asked of us, and God makes sure it all comes together for the advancement of the kingdom.

When we see someone asking for prayers, we would most likely be inclined to pray for them. But, what about those who don’t outright ask for prayers. This does not mean though that they need not prayers. Believe me, we all need prayers in carrying out the work of the Master. We do not need to know what the need is for an individual. God knows what is needed. We just need to pray for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. Then we can let go and let God take over. If there is more for us to do on a given prayer request, we will be guided to what is needed.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. When we turn to God in prayer, His almighty power is stirred into the action He deems necessary. You may not realize the importance of a prayer you give to the Father on behalf of your brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray always for the body of Christ.
