I know. The title of this article is pretty grim. We all know, however, that evil, violence, and terror are increasing. Stephen Hawking, one of the most brilliant minds on the planet recently stated, "We are approaching the most dangerous moment in the development of humanity." Journalist Michael Snyder asked a question in a recent article, "Are we on the verge of the worst time in all of human history?"
Matthew 24:37 tells us that "the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah..." Then if we turn back to Genesis 6, verses 11 and 13 say that in the days prior to the judgment of the flood of Noah, the earth "was filled with violence." Going back to Matthew 24, it says in verse 21 that there is coming a time in history when "there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world, nor ever shall." That time is rapidly approaching! Just ten years ago, or even only five years ago, the world did not experience all the violence we are seeing now. If things continue as they are unchecked, where might the world be in another ten years?
Moving forward to Revelation 6:4 we read that "men will slay one another." Verse 8 mentions the "sword" as one of the ways this will happen. Revelation also delares in 20:4 that "the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God..." People slaying one another by swords and beheading is what we are seeing right now isn't it. This is already being fulfilled.
The evilness of humanity combined with the judgment of God will lead to "the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man {hiding themselves} in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains" (Revelation 6:15). Whether one takes this literally or figuratively, either way it clearly denotes fear on a very broad scale never known in human history.
There is a pattern here. At the time of God's jugment and continual violence upon the earth, Noah and his family were spared by the safety and security of the Ark. There is a belief that Christians will be spared from the coming judgment via the rapture of the Church. There is precedence for this. Besides Noah and his family being spared, consider the fact that Lot and his wife were called out of Sodom and Gomorrah before God judged those citiies. Let's hope that the pre-trib people like myself are correct because things are eventually going to get pretty ugly on planet earth if things continue as they are.
Until the rapture (and if you don't believe in a rapture), or until you die a physical death, lay claim to the words of Psalm 91:
"You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that lays waste at noon...No evil will befall you...For he will give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands..."

BTW, I do not believe in a rapture, God promises protection, not removal.
