The Tenant Parable Today

In Luke 20:9-16 we read the parable of the farmer and the tenants.

Let’s look at the parable as to how it fits in to our time. The man who planted the vineyard is the Heavenly Father. The vineyard is the world. The farmers of the parable are comparable to unbelievers of this day. The man sent servants to receive some of the fruit. God sends His chosen children as His servants. We share the Good News of Jesus Christ, so that God may receive fruit, good deeds done by those who choose to turn their lives over to God. The fruit of their heart is what the Lord seeks. Those who remain of this world, will shun, ignore, or strike out at those who belong to God. God sent His Son 2000 years ago to teach us about His desires, and as a sacrificial lamb for the atonement of our sins. What do those who “kill” Christ think they can gain? All that they will gain for themselves is eternal doom. All the unbelieving farmers will be “killed” themselves when they receive their eternal doom.

Continue to be that servant that God sends. The harvest is ready but the workers are few.
