Ford Motor Company had a good idea for an advertising campaign. They touted it as a ‘better idea.’

The phrase was a stroke of genius, a marketing tool to draw potential buyers into dealer's showrooms. You might remember the light bulb in their advertizing, imagery of an idea with the flick of the switch.

My thought, an idea on this subject brings to mind a remark used in a communication breakdown.

"Do you have any idea what I am talking about?"

Picture a frantic mother trying to explain the dangers of speeding or reckless driving to a teenage son. All the while, he proudly holds a brand new drivers license in his hands. His blank expression reveals that he is clueless to her warnings. He just wants the keys to the car.

He has no idea what his mom is trying to convey.

In many cases, pictures speak a universal language. A light bulb represents a brilliant idea.

‘Now I get it! I’ve seen the light!’

Our only true source of revelation is God. He sheds light upon His word.

“Lord, You are my lamp;
the Lord illuminates my darkness (2 Samuel 22:29 HCSB).”
