Be Like Children

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17 NIV

As we mature from little children to teen-age and then young adult, we begin to take on responsibility for our own lives. We do this, as we are responsible for our own well-being as we grow, assuming we have the capability to do such.

Salvation, and inheritance of God’s kingdom, though, does not follow in this manner. Our salvation and inheritance of God’s kingdom are not achieved through action on our part, except for accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, and giving ourselves to Him. We must totally rely on God’s love, mercy, and compassion for our receiving salvation and inheriting God’s kingdom. We have no merit of our own to receive from God.

God knows this, and He loves us so much that He has a plan for each of us to receive salvation and eternal life. Christ stands at the door which leads to salvation and eternal life. We must pass through Him to receive these blessings. There is no other way.

Travel the pathway of the Lord. Seek Him at the door. Whoever knocks at the door, with a heart belonging to Christ will be admitted. The door is narrow, so, only those who belong to Christ will be able to enter.
