At times I feel I walk alone,
But gazing through Spirit eyes
See the evidence of the One who holds my hand
Along the Narrow Way.

I cried from the depths of my tortured soul, saying,
"Lord, if you're real, and I believe that you are,
Do not leave me for I am only made of clay.
Draw close to me and save my soul.
Strengthen me, Lord Jesus, and make me whole.
Lord, throughout my life,
Whatever would seek to draw us apart,
Don't ever let go of this wayward heart."

Way back when this journey had just begun,
When I was introduced to God's only Son,
I spoke the words of faith that unlocked the door.
It's so very simple, but so few are willing
To take the key that leads to the challenge
Of a lifetime, leading to an eternity
Of peace, joy, and life everlasting,

The way that leads to the Throne of Grace
Can be such a sad and lonely place;
A place where we learn
To hear His voice and walk by faith.
This road teaches us to be counting the cost,
And it costs us all that we've got.
Family and friends
In which we've invested so much,
We give them all back to the One,
In whom we can trust to keep them in His care.
The things that we own and that we desire
Mean so little compared
With Your awesome love and power.

God has given us friends along the way
That encourage and to bless;
God with hands and arms to hold us
When we hurt, or in an expression
Of joyful celebration.


Companions on the Narrow Way,
A Way that leads us on to a new life
Full of promise, health, fulfillment,
And an eternity spent with You,
Our God, the Lover of our souls.
