We don't know their circumstances,
they could've once been like you and me.
They may've lost a loved one,
maybe two or three.

An illness
could've zapped their determination
to build another home,
giving them a reason to go it alone.

It doesn't take a second
to reach out your hand
to make them feel important
as they travel throughout the land.

It might ignite the spark
they need in their lives
to know someone cares
about what happens in their time of strife.
