Seeing The Invisible

My perceptive wife asked me another good question recently.  How could Moses see
Him who is invisible, if He is invisible?  Isn't that a contradiction? (Hebrews 11, v.27)  I had to admit it seemed like a contradiction, or at least a paradox, since Scripture doesn't contain outright contradictions.  God is too logical for that.  After all, one of His titles is the Word. ("logos" in Greek, root for "logic")  The only way I could answer is that when we are contemplating the nature and character of God, we are beholding Him in a way, perceiving Him.  The book of Revelations at the end of the Bible speaks of those upon whose foreheads is inscribed the name of God. (Revelations chapter 14 v.1,  and chapter 22, v.4)  If we think of the forehead as representing the mind or will, then included in the meaning of such in inscription is the fact that these ones so represented are meditating on the nature and character of God, and pondering on the will of God with a determination to carry out that will.  That's what Moses did on a regular basis.  One can actually enhance one's intelligence and increase one's IQ doing that, I am convinced.  Try thinking about how God could have always existed, or how God could be three and yet one, or how we are going to live forever, or try imagining infinite space without pushing out the borders of your brain.  Continued thoughts about God's attributes and God's thumbprints in creation tend to leave their favorable and positively expansive marks on our minds after a while.
