Prophecy
Conference speaker and author Ron Rhodes is one of the legends among prophecy scholars. His appearances in 2016 alone on both David Reagan’s “Christ in Prophecy” and “The John Ankerberg Show” programs were appearances full of his wisdom and humor (I did say humor) on issues critical to students and scholars on Bible prophecy. Rhodes tackles some of the more thorny issues of Bible prophecy in his work: “The 8 Great Debates of Bible Prophecy” (2014, 283 pages, Harvest House Publishing).
The book is a wealth of information in compact form. While it does use Bible translations in addition to the KJV (which may be a turn off for some), the information and debates themselves provide more than ample opportunity for the serious Bible student. The work has more than enough material for those new to the field of prophecy, and for those ‘veterans’ who have been around the block a few times and can tell the difference between the terms ‘pre’ trib, ‘post’ trib, and ‘mid’ trib.
The chapters in the book are organized to reflect upon the debate topic, and are broken down by the area of discussion. Some of the topics are: “How Are We To Understand The Book Of Revelation”, and “Are Israel And The Church Distinct In Bible Prophecy”. This is one of those books that is guaranteed to be one of those ‘requested’ resources, should a friend spot it in your library.
“The 8 Great Debates of Bible Prophecy” can be found at your favorite Christian book store, on line through your favorite electronic bookseller, or through Harvest House Publishers, at their website. A warning: IF you loan this book out, you might not get it back! Better have more than one on hand.
