ONE ANSWER

Sometimes you need a mountaintop
And a night alone, to pray.
At times the laugh of a friend feels good
Like the breeze on a sun-kissed day.
At times a longing can run so deep
That it aches for relief in your breast,
And there're times when you feel
That to hold on to loved ones
Is the finest, the surest, the best.

I have known men who conjured up terror
In the hearts of the ones that they passed.
And I've known girls so sweet and so pretty
That to hold them would melt you like wax.
I have sensed things not of this mere planet
That were spirit, beyond what you see
But I've known not another
Who remotely compared
To the Carpenter of Galilee.

When the friends have all vanished
And I can't find the lovers
When my heart feels so hollow
When my tears stain the covers
When I walked streets of empty
That reflected my soul;
I found rest in my Savior
I was half, He was whole.

In my smallest apartment
Where I grew sick of sin
I gave up my rebellion
To my Father and lived!
By the Blood of His Only Begotten Dear Son
I became one of His
I returned in sheer bliss
To my Shepherd, my sheepfold, my home.
