Rom 6:1-2, 'What shall we say then? Shall we continue to sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?'
In other words, how can we because Jesus died the death we ought to die now continue in sin. Our lives should be obligated to serve him and to glorify him because the life we have is not ours but his-we owe him our lives(Gal 2:20, Phil 1:21)
The bible says, 'he died for our sins' not 'his sins' ; he cleared our sins by just one death, therefore our little token of appreciation is to live a life of righteousness... Of course we are righteous.. For if we are in Christ, we are made the righteousness of God(Rom 6:18, 2 Cor 5:21)
Therefore this news should free us from sinning, 'For he that is death to sin is freed from sin'(Rom 6:7) and if we are freed from sin, we should live as Christ ambassadors(2 Cor 5:20) not as those crucifying Christ afresh(Heb 6:6)
Our mind set should not be as those whom are still sinners but those whose sins are forgiven(Rom 4:7)
Rom 6:6, 'Knowing this , that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed that hence forth, we should not serve sin'
What are we saying... Your sins are forgiven and forgotten(Heb 10:17)...HURRAY???
But that should not warrant you to sin, the bible says 'Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof' (Rom 6:12)
You should reprogram your mind in order to be freed from sin(Rom 12:2)... I know i didn't enlightened you that much but understand that Christ death, did not freed you to sin.. Rather it freed you from sin...
Think about it...
