Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Luke 7:44-50 NIV

Simon offered the Lord no water for His feet, but the woman poured tears onto His feet. Simon gave the Lord no kiss, yet the woman continuously kissed His feet. Simon offered no oil for the Lord’s head, but the woman abundantly perfumed the Lord’s feet. Simon offered nothing of his heart to Jesus, but the woman poured out her heart, her inner being to the Lord.

The Lord knows us. We cannot hide anything from Him. How is it that we could believe we would be able to mask ourselves before Him? Even though our God knows everything about us, yet, He still wants us to come to Him, to open our all to Him. He wants us to trust Him with everything within us. He wants us to let go and give our all to Him. If we do we shall have more than we could ever hope to have. We will have a life with the upmost of meaning. We will have eternal life in the presence of the Father and the Son. God’s mercy, love, and grace is poured out upon those who belong to Him. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit indwell all who believe. We who truly believe shall not want. We have all that is needed.
