As is usual, early one Friday morning my daughter was getting ready for school.  No one took time to appreciate the sunlight spreading its beam bathing the living room with warmth.

“Graceia! Have you put on the identity card?”

“Yes mom!”

“Have you finished the breakfast?”

“Not yet.”

“How many times do I have to tell you?”

“Didn’t you ask me to read the Bible verse? I can do just one thing at a time.” I saw anger brewing in her eyes.

“I am sorry. The school van will be here at any moment. Try to eat your breakfast fast.”

“Alright! Alright! How about packing the breakfast? I’ll eat while travelling in the van.”

“That’s a good idea.”

While packing the breakfast and lunch my mobile melodiously sang. In a hurry I picked the call.

“Hello!”

“Hello! Praise the Lord!”

“Aunty! It’s Perciba.”

“I can’t hear you.”

“I am Ranjith’s sister – Perciba.”

“Oh! Yeah! Perciba. What is the matter?”

“Aunty! Tomorrow my friend and her mom are visiting my house.”

“Alright!”

“They would like you to pray for them.”

“Are they believers?”

“No! They are non-believers?”

“I see. At what time are they coming?”

“At nine in the morning.”

“From where?”

“All the way from Ennore-near the seashore.”

“Alright! Give me a call and I’ll be at your house within fifteen minutes.”

“Thank you.”

The conversation concluded.

The following day Perciba called to tell me that her acquaintances have arrived. As promised I started and meanwhile, I prayed to God for divine counsel. Immediately this verse, “He is their strength in the time of trouble” flashed in my inward eye. I knew not in what situation they were jammed in. I stepped inside Perciba’s house. After formal greetings, I directly asked, “What is your problem?”

Amidst sobs that young girl managed to say: “Aunty! After two years of dating my boyfriend refuses to marry me.” She continued, “He is a loyal guy. Everything sailed smooth until his parents took a stern decision. Something has jammed our relationship. How I wish he had not stepped into my life. Now I feel as if I am in a total mess. I built my royal castle on him and now I can’t digest this happening to me.”

Her mother interfered, “She keeps crying and refuses to eat anything. Thoughts of the time spent with her boyfriend torments her. It is traumatic to see my daughter in this state. We believe that Lord Jesus Christ can perform a miracle for her. Please pray for her.”

While listening attentively I prayed for God to guide me. I waited till she poured out her feelings. Then I questioned, “Do you believe that God does everything for your good?” She nodded her head. “Your mother will not give you something which is harmful even if you desire it isn’t it?” She smiled. I told her, “God is your Creator. He knows what is best for your life. He is always right. Stay calm at this juncture. You only know the past and the present but God knows your future as well. Let’s pray for God’s divine strength to come upon you.”

“Loving heavenly Father! We surrender this dear daughter, her mother and their entire family into your hands. You are a caring counselor for those who are without directions. In your immense grace and mercy set her free from this bondage and make her rejoice in you. We pray that you will bestow peace and joy in their hearts. We capture every sinful thought that is tormenting and cast it into fiery furnace to become ashes. Please make their thoughts and actions beautiful even as they place their faith on you and depend on you. You are our Creator and you perfect everything concerning us. Let the joy of the Lord be their strength. We offer this prayer in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

After prayers, I told her, “Cut all kind of communications with your boyfriend until the marriage materializes.” She gladly agreed. I also told her, “Always be in the company of your family members and concentrate on your work. Never be alone. Don’t let your mind be idle. Read the Bible.” In privacy I told Perciba, “Please motivate your friend and help her through this phase of life.” Positive or negative reply does not matter but whatever God does however jammed the situation is in our perspective, anyone can rest assured, “God will not make a mistake.”

This is actually intended for challenge topic 'jam'. Since I had no credits, I am posting it here. Would appreciate if the credit levels are increased.
