On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” So he got up and stood there. Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. Luke 6:6-11 NIV

These leaders of the day were watching Jesus very carefully. All they sought was some act on His part that they could use as an accusation against Him. The Pharisees and teachers of the law were hypocrites. In the twelfth chapter of Matthew Jesus asked if one of them had a sheep fall into a pit on the Sabbath would they not lift the sheep out of the pit. Of course they would have rescued their sheep. Yet they were willing to condemn Jesus for healing a man on the Sabbath. The Pharisees and teachers of the law lived too much in man-made laws, laws that were of no significance to God. Their eyes were blinded to the real truth of God.

God is love. He is compassionate and merciful. He is caring and understanding. Would not our God want that someone should be healed on a Sabbath? For healing, why should one day be different from another?

What God wants to see most is the healing of our inner being. This is a healing which comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Those who give themselves to Christ have a healing that mankind cannot understand or provide. Those who belong to Him understand the inner healing they have received.

Oh that we may walk in the path of the Lord when we have received the inner healing which only He can provide to us! AMEN!!
