The Heart's Thoughts Revealed

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.  It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.  Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.  Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.” Luke 2:25-35 NIV

Are we, today’s followers of Jesus Christ, at peace, just as Simeon was upon taking the baby Jesus in his arms? If we are not at peace, then there is something seriously wrong with our belief in Christ. Are we now able to accept the thought of the perishing of our earthly body now that we have “seen” Christ? We certainly should be, as our eternal existence with the Holy Trinity in Heaven shall be a bliss compared to our earthly lives.

The Father has prepared salvation in the sight of all nations! His Son, Jesus Christ, is the one and only true light in the world. The light that shines in believers is not of our own, it is the light of Christ shining in and through us! Stay humble and remember this always!

Christ and His teaching has brought division since He began preaching. Why is this so? It is because His teaching brings forth that which is truly hidden in the heart of all mankind. Those who are evil do not wish that their evil should be revealed, and thus they would be adverse to the teachings of Christ. No one’s heart will not be exposed by Christ. Try as one might, they cannot hide from the Lord.

Mary was warned her soul would be pierced with a sword. Being the mother of Jesus Christ, and as she was near the cross on which He hung, it is easy to see how her soul would be pierced. Today, is not our heart and soul pierced by the love which the Father and the Son have for mankind. If Christ going to the cross in place of you, as a sacrifice for your sins, does not pierce your heart and soul, then nothing ever would, and your soul would be eternally lost.

Thank you Lord that you have pierced our heart and soul with the epitome of love which the Father and You have shown for all mankind! AMEN!!
