Faith
The Sleeping Virgin
She tilts her head, looking to the heavens and thinks of her Intended
Loves floods flows swiftly into her heart. But she has grown so weary of waiting.
For the Master has not given her a date that He will place the crown
upon her head; instead of this heavy helmet He has given her for battle.
Her arms cradle the beautiful plumage of flowers He brings to her just to make her smile.
He calls for a chef’s feast to makes sure she is nourished well.
He bound His letters in a Book of Love, hoping that she will read it every day.
The Word floats idly over the tablets of her heart.
The shield she once wielded lies next to her, against the cement bench
With all the other blossoms of days gone by.
Yes, she still believes, but her eye lids close softly
The glorious garments of righteousness hang swaying in the wind, hung
from on the willow tree surrounded by bells and snatches of sunshine from on High.
This weary maiden, so strong and fierce, has forgotten the King’s decree she once
spoke of with such ardor. The power to decree and declare in the Master’s name.
Powerful enough to make any enemy flee with terror at the thought of her Lover’s anger, His Majesty.
Wake up, glorious Bride! The day soon draws near and the enemy has more boldly approached your
camp.
Take with you all the inhabitants of the land, for they are many, but the laborers are few. They find
sanctuary in the Kingdom in the shadows of the Almighty. There are many
Who do not know they are in danger’s invisible hands. Remember the Word of the Mighty One who
said Greater works will you do, than I have done before.
Behold your mirror, Beloved of God and show them who you are. By miracles, signs and wonders
They will return to the King.
Do not forget the image you saw, in the looking glass. You must be a doer also.
Slay demons with your authority. Take up your shield and with your faith rejoice. Put on your whole
Armor and please don’t delay.
For the oil lamps burn low, when you become content and allow the enemy blows
to take any territory destined for the King.
Wake, Virgin Bride.
Jesus is at hand.
