Child Bride

She was a child bride on her wedding day
When she devoted her life to him for eternity
So young, yet so full of love
And confident in what was to be

Through her confusing teenage years
He was always by her side
Lending his support and wisdom
Comforting her through the tears she cried

As a wife she faced many challenges
In sharing her life with another person
Yet, through all the ups and downs
He continued to give his provision

She became a woman and a mother
He gave wisdom in raising her children
Giving her patience, hope and guidance
Helping her with every decision

Her children grew all too soon
And each made a life of their own
Yet, he remained with her always faithful
Reminding her she was not alone

How quickly the years flew by
And old age upon her swiftly crept
Still, he remained strong through her fragility
His promise to never leave her, he kept

Then the day came that she left this earth
And he was still there by her side
Taking care of her as always before
Christ and His Child Bride
