Christmas Recollections

As I celebrate Christmas, I recall happy memories of earlier Christmases. Recently, I asked my two sisters and our brother to share some of their recollections.

If you are blessed with living siblings or parents, you might do the same.

My sisters and I did have a few of the same recollections; we all remember receiving dolls for Christmas. New sweaters and pajamas were also mentioned. Our brother’s most memorable situation involved our oldest sister (now deceased). Impersonating Santa, she used a deep voice and he heard her from his bedroom. I know he misses her; we all do.

It is natural to miss loved ones. We cherish the happy times we shared together.

Memories of days gone by draw me closer to my family today.

God is drawing me back to the Christmas gospel.

JESUS saves.

I give God the glory.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart (Luke 2:14-19 KJV).”
