LEN'S LINES -- A Little Religion On A Positive Note by Len Granger
Pray For Public Officials
As Apostle Paul, the aged and experienced servant of the Lord traveled from city to city, he wrote to men and women that helped him start churches. One young pastor, by the name of Timothy, was facing the heavy burden of responsibility in the church of Ephesus. Timothy listens as his youthfulness could be a liability, rather than an asset to spreading the Gospel in a sinful world.
We read in the Bible how Paul tells them how to pray and worship. Timothy, 2:1-3. " I exhort therefore. that. first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for Kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour."
The Word of God, the Bible, is the most read Book in the world even today. The Message never changes and is the same today as when it was written by the men of God thousand of years ago. We read in Psalm 12;6-7 " The words of the LORD are pure words; as silver fried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." God has kept His promise.
All Kings and people in authority are called to make the most important decision in their earthly life. The acceptance of our living Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a personal decision. 1 Timothy. 2;4. " Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ."
The founders of our country, so many years ago, looked to the Lord for guidance and direction and our nation was founded on Biblical principles. Over the centuries, many of our leaders where Godly men and our nation prospered from the blessings of God. Let us pray for our leaders to continue to look to the Lord for answers to the trials and tribulations, they will surely face in the future.
Let us all worship and honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the church of our choice this Sunday.
