A natural substance which is a black sticky goo,
From an underground hydrocarbon source it is true,
It wells to the surface and fills holes in the ground,
Tar pits, tar lakes and tar sands then are found.
Beware all you animals lest you fall in,
And become pickled carcass, you and your kin.

Call it tar, call it asphalt, bitumen or pitch,
It's a resource for man to build roads and build ships,
One very small "ship", papyrus basket we're told,
All painted with pitch, a child to enfold,
Saved wee little Moses and kept death at bay,
When his mother hid him that long ago day.

In a previous millennium eight people to save,
Were drifted above highest mountain and wave,
Sealed in a barge tarred inside and out,
A spectacle for porpoise, sea serpent and trout,
A thirteen six ninety ton three story gaint,
With all kinds of land creatures from dino to ant.

The barge came to rest in the mountains of Ararat,
Then through those black clouds, history's first clouds at that,
Burst forth a bow stretched right across heaven,
The spectrum of white light split into seven,
And God made a promise that has never been broken,
Global deluge makes sense we're NOT mistaken.
(Think about it).

Tar is a mineral associated with oil,
When the lighter part has gone with the boil,
And sulphur is also an evaporate type,
An element of judgment for sin that was ripe,
Sin is rebellion against our Father, God,
Turn around He forgives you, walk the path His Son trod.

He holds out His hands all day long sayng, "Come!"
Victory o'er death has already been won,
Blessings or cursings which will it be,
It's time for decision for you and for me,
Tar or sulphur, now which will you choose,
Decide as did Joshua and you cannot lose.
