If we are a person with a questioning mind
eventually this is the question for which we search
to find an answer so that we may define our place
in the human-race.

The need to know grows and grows as we walk
through life, trying this and trying that, finding
sometimes a fit, and sometimes not; and then
to discover that place seems to change as we age.

Or does it really? Could it be that our culture
dictates to me and to you who we are and
what we can do? Does it place restrictions
upon our convictions, that which is in our heart?

Created by God I am; filled with sparks of His
creativity which He assigned to specifically me.
For each one of us this is true for God
made only one of me and likewise one of you.

So why then do we look among the things created
to identify who we are? Is it not to God that we
must refer to find our path upon the earth?
It is He alone Who knows who we are from birth.

He says that He knows how many hairs are
upon or heads, likewise He knows that for
which He placed us here, the gifts He wove
within our being to fill the work to us given.

Yet each age of life that we process through
has cultural restrictions placed on me and you
to tell us what we can and cannot do. Follow
with me as I reason: no one knows me like God

and so it must be that each day I must look
to God to define the path for me. He is not
astounded by the age of me or you; since we
are to live forever, how old can any of us be?

Little children and the youth, the adult and
the aged are all accountable to Him to do
the things for which each one was made.
So let me cut through the limitations

going straight to Him Who knows the answers
to the questions which halt my path each day.
I am asking of You Lord, to identify me to me
by the thing You have assigned for me to do
regardless of the ideation of my culture,

social position, health status, gender, or age,
and while I know I should be patient Lord, could
You let me know today? I have deep internal need
to be identified by You; give to me Your vision please!
