Today I woke up feeling totally like a toad. I grabbed a cup of coffee, stumbled to my chair and turned on the morning news. It wasn't long till the wife passed by asking. “What are you going to do today?” I tried to ignore her but she just stood there as if she was in a stare down at the OK Corral. I took another long sip of my coffee and said. “I don't know, I'm feeling like a toad today.” She rapidly fired back with pinpoint accuracy.
“Your not green, you don't have four legs, and your eyes aren't popping out of your head! Your not a toad! The lawn needs mowing, I have some things for you to drop off at goodwill and we should do some grocery shopping.”
I grunted like a toad and went back to sipping my coffee.
Two hours later I heard a blood curdling scream come from the kitchen area.
“You big fat toad, get out of that chair and do something!”
Well, That's all I needed to sway me over to the toad life. I felt like a toad and now someone I loved told me I was a Toad. I was confused. I loved the toad life. There was nothing like hopping from my big leather lily pad chair to the kitchen and back. I could croak along with the songs blasting from my TV with gleeful ease and my eyes even began to bulge from watching so much TV.
I now began to question who I might be. I identified with the lifestyle of a toad, my wife called me a toad, I wanted to be a toad, Yes, I'm sure of it, I'm a toad. Maybe it's time for that equipment change surgery.
While this might seem far fetched our children are being taught that the gender you are born with doesn't matter. In Lincoln Nebraska there are schools that never address students as boys and girls. Why? Because they don't want to affirm a gender identity to these young people just in case they might be in the valley of indecision about their gender. The school actually encourages them not to line up in the traditional boys in this line and girls in this line but they are to line up according to their interested identity. I wonder if they have a line for boys who feel like toads?
Gender doesn't matter in these schools. Many schools across America now have a cross dressing day once a year where boys are not laughed at for wearing a dress but those who refuse are ridiculed and laughed at. In a Balckberg Virginia high school a gay boy was named Homecoming Prom Queen even though he was a gay boy. How is that even fair to the girls hoping to be that years Prom Queen? We are surely living in an upside down world.
There is an old biblical saying found in Jeremiah 13:23. “Can the Ethiopian change his skin or a leopard his spots?” You cannot change the nature you were born with anymore than a leopard can change its spots or an Ethiopian his skin. It's in your genes and DNA. Your genetic code was programed by God and no amount of surgery or hormone injections can replace the the male or female chromosomes flowing through your trillions of cells.
I might feel like a toad, act like a toad, be called a toad, even dress up as a toad but I'll never be a toad. I don't have it's God given genetic code . It's a scientific fact that our genetic code is unchangeable. It's time to make peace with our gender, otherwise, our God given mandated code will continue to war with an unknown assigned sexual identity. True peace and happiness will only come when there is harmony between the two.
