The Glory of God
Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
...............................................................................................................
Praise the Lord!!!
Beloved God created us for His glory and therefore crown us with an excellent glory. Prophet Isaiah says Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Isa 43:7
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: Ps 8:4-6
Glory is described as ...
- Great beauty or splendour, that is so overwhelming it is considered powerful.
- Honour, admiration and valour accorded
- That quality in a person which secures praise and honour
- Worship or praise, as in glory to God.
- Victory; success.
- To exult with joy; to rejoice
That is, a quality of great beauty or splendor and honour God crown us with, the Glory of God, the Holy Spirit.
He has created us for Glory ...doxa..gk, or ...kabowd..hb, both meaning ...dignity, ...honour, ...praise, ...glory, ...worship.
We are made honourable and dignified in the image of God to express the excellences of that beauty placed in us. The Glory is powerful to cloth and protect and guide us from enemy invasion.
This is the purpose of God's call for us and to glorify Him in both our spirit and in our body.
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 1 Thes 2:12
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor 6:20
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2 Tim 1:9
This glory of God, the Holy Spirit, can be lost even after receiving salvation and not fulfilling the rights to it.
In other words grieving the Holy Spirit. The causative agent is Sin which will make us fall or come short of God's glory.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Eph 4:30
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:23
Sin ...hamartano..gk, meaning ...to miss the mark, ...to err, ...to sin, ...offend, ...trespass., of one man's disobedience, sin passed to all men and we all come short ...hustereo..gk, meaning ...be inferior, ...come behind, ...fail, ...lack, of the glory of God.
Sin is a door, darkness, Satan and legal right for Satan to wreck havoc in your life, the cause of the lost glory. But by one man's obedience, Jesus, the glory is purchased back and offered to whosoever will receive and abide in it.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Rom 5:19
Beloved, there is nothing wrong with the Glory of God but everything is wrong with us and hindering us from living in the glory of God which is in His Word. The more we abide in His Word, Jesus, the more we express the brightness of God's glory.
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Heb 1:1-4
We need to be working the Word of God to bring that glory, dignity or honour to reflect in our life because we are the expression of His glory, His Image and personality as good epistles of Christ for the salvation of many.
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isaiah 60:1-3
It is worthy to note that the glory can depart ...'lykabowd..hb, meaniing ...no glory, ...inglorious, ..ichabod, the son of Phinehas so named because the glory has departed from Israel as the covenant ark was taken away.
The glory over Samson departed and never knew until he fell into the trap of the enemy. It is Sin that will make us to come short of the Glory of God.
We can be full of God"s glory when we stay in our place in the Word of God. Jesus has given back to us the glory we lost in its complete measure.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. Jn 17:22-24
As we operate in the fulness of God's Glory, we will ask of God in Jesus name and it will be delivered or made for us.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Jn 15:7-8
The Glory belongs to God alone and He shares it with the new creation . It is of His fulness He has dispensed to each one of us His Glory for a good purpose.
Oh Lord, ... For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Mt 6:13
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. Jn 1:16
We need to be careful to walk in all the glory to God and to glorify Him in all that we do in word and in deed, to walk in the fulness of Gods glory ...dignity, honour and worship.
Be blessed!!!
