No Pill Available

I read an alarming article recently. It involved a survey conducted with many doctors. Of those doctors questioned, many stated that their patients were more concerned with receiving medication to eliminate the pain caused by an ailment, rather than working on eliminating the ailment itself. Are we truly in such a state that we wish to mask rather than solve the issues we face in life?

Fortunately there is no pill available for one issue we all face in life, finding rest and peace for our souls. We must get to the root cause of our search. We all seek rest and peace for our souls because our lives have been stained by our sinful nature. In Matthew 9:12 Jesus said "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” Jesus is the answer to this sickness we humans face. Don’t look for a pill, or some quick fix to this sickness. There is nothing available on the market to deal with the need of the human soul. The only answer here is Jesus! He is the only way to deal with this sickness.

Doctors have various office hours. The “office” of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is always open. Jesus tells us in John 7:37-38 “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Rivers of Living Water will provide rest and peace for the human soul.

Knock at the door. Jesus will answer. Let Him answer the quest for rest and peace for the soul.
