Yesterday

Oh my God this excruciating pain
The rawness of the wound won’t subside
It’s become an open sore
Oozing from within deep inside

The scars have unsealed themselves
Gaping open with vengeance
Ragged edges won’t adhere
Blood flows in its ambience

Depression has seized control
With an iron clad grip
Ominous darkness prevails
Its hostility holds no bargaining chip

Emotions ride like a roller coaster
Unsettling thoughts haunts my mind
The only escape door I see
Has above it “Suicide”

Loneliness eats at my soul
Emptiness accompanies my bed
I hunger for companionship
Yet, sleep alone instead

I’ve watched those I love so dear leave
Some willingly, others in death
Desolation has dealt its hand
Merciless and full of wrath

Amidst my damning life
The gates of Hell have opened wide
Satan, himself, stands at the door
Smirking as he invites me inside

That’s where I have been encased
Imprisoned in a well laid trap
But somehow I’ve escaped
With retaliation I’ve come back

Satan, I’ll spread the word
Of your lies and deceit
I’ll shout to the world of what you do
I’ll also tell that you can be beat

Recovery from your calumniatory way
May be a slow and painful process
But it’s possible with Yahs help
Through His strength there is progress

Slowly, but surely I’m making ground
I’ve become a different, better person
Altered, changed from my experience
Saved through My Father and His Son

Yesterday, I believed I was damned to Hell
But today I know the solid way
I know the truth and in time will heal
I’ve never been abandoned by my God, Yahweh

Yesterday, I envisioned a world
Sheathed in so much pain and misery
Today, I see past the pain
For in His Truth I was set free
