Why do some say “I found Jesus” when discussing coming to the Lord? Jesus said “no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” John 1:41 says “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ).” Even the disciple boasted about finding Jesus.
God the Father, and Jesus Christ know the name of every person who has or will believe in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All those who are chosen by the Father were predestined to be believers in Jesus Christ. It is through the mercy of God that we are His children. We have done nothing to deserve what we have received. It is only in approaching the Lord with a sincere and humble heart that we were saved. We knew that the life we lived was in conflict with what God wanted for us. We accept the Lord and ask Him to be the One in charge of our life.
We cannot boast that we found the Lord. The Lord knows us. Let us always remember God’s mercy. Through the perfect plan of the Heavenly Father we are His adopted children.
