We sometimes send a message with words we never said
Tempers can be short, In your eyes I'm 10 feet tall
Age is just a number, Divorce can build a wall
Sometimes deals are square, Yet the earth is round
Though you may be lost, Through God you can be found
We are all His children, For everybody bleeds
Revenge is often sweet, Sharing changes greed

Clouds are silver-lined, Envy may be green
They say that love is blind and follow every dream
No problem is too big, No mountain is too high
Unicorns aren't real, And donkeys, they can't fly
If there's no such thing as luck, What's meant to be will be
Why count my lucky stars...America is free?
We'll all pay our dues, One day we'll face the dance
When we dare to gamble, We really take a chance

People chase their rainbows looking for a pot of gold
The thing that truly matters is the beauty in our souls
There is hope for tomorrow and angels in disguise
It's hard to drown our sorrows, The world is full of lies
I've never met a stranger, Hello can mean good-bye
We can feel so low, the valleys may seem high
The poorest are the richest, Some pleasures bring us pain
Good always conquers evil and sunshine turns to rain

Children are a treasure from heaven up above
The world would be a better place if we all learned to love
Sometimes we win, Sometimes we lose
My mind is clear, Yet I'm confused
Through tragedy we triumph, Bitter are our tears
At times the blind can see and the deaf can hear
Guns are lethal weapons, Yet even looks can kill
Promises are broken and hearts were made to steal

You wonder what's the purpose for writing such a song
Saying things like time is short, Days and nights grow long
But everything I've said, Be it fiction, be it fact
I am just as serious, As a heart attack
You know the best kept secrets are the ones we never heard
