The poor are real people in genuine need. Their plight has been the focus of many groups, including Christians and Communists. As a result of this seeming commonality for the poor, Christians are increasingly accepting the notion, often put over by Communists, that communism is a valid enactment of the Christian faith. In point of fact, Christianity and Communism are opposites.


They have opposite Gods. Christians accept and follow the God of the Bible, Creator of heaven and earth, Maker and Judge of all men. They know God has given every man free will and established the basis for all human polity and economy on private property which His laws protect. Communists bestow godhead upon the State they fashion with hands, making it their source and administrator of all liberties and rights, owner, guardian and gatekeeper of all property. Their laws elevate the collective above the individual and protect State rule over every man.

They use opposite methods. Christians are admonished to work at a lawful livelihood to support their needs and those of others through generous giving. They know that the earth is God's and the fullness thereof; He gives to each the ability to marshal all resources necessary to carry out this commandment. Their method is charity. Communists recognize that the State can produce nothing of itself, that its only resource is armed force. They know only that earth is finite. They look to the State to forcibly remove from those who have and redistribute it to those who have not. Their method is armed robbery.

They follow opposite motivations. Christians are recipients of God's grace through His everlasting mercy borne of His infinite love. They are motivated to emulate His love toward those in need. Communists are complicit in the State's forced redistribution of property. They are motivated by envy, jealousy and self-righteous anger directed at stripping those whom they see as privileged on behalf of those they view as oppressed and entitled, to justify themselves.

They await opposite hopes. Christians hope in their resurrection from the dead promised by Christ and their glorification with Him in His kingdom coming to earth, ruled in perfect peace and justice. Communists hope in a lukewarm, homogenous sea of unbroken mediocrity as faceless, nameless robots ruled by anonymous men and glued to one another by inescapable repression.

They produce opposite outcomes. Christians spread Jesus' gospel that gives life to all men, and that life is eternal. The outcome is lives lived in faith, a community of believers in harmony - countless millions restored to fellowship with God and one another - capable of self-government and fit for freedom. Communists spread their anger through violence, subjugating men to the rule of men, deeming their ends to justify any means necessary to achieve them, incapable of anything but bringing servitude under scarcity. Their outcome is a rotting graveyard for hundreds of millions of corpses and where those left breathing wish they too were already buried.


Christianity is based on truth. Communism is based on lies. Christianity is worship of the true God. Communism is worship of idols and blasphemy. Christianity is hope in our perfection that can only be given us by the Perfect God. Communism is hope in the self-perfection of man by imperfect men.

Christians alleviate the plight of the poor to the glory of God. Communists alleviate their guilt in using the poor to enrich themselves. Christians live in love, sowing peace, reaping blessings. Communists live in fear, sowing mayhem, reaping curses. Christians give life. Communists steal, kill and destroy. Christians are children of their Father, God. Communists are children of their father, Satan. Christians are sane. Communists are not.

There can never be any such thing as a 'Christian Communist'.
