WHAT A PRIVILEGE

Imagine that you died and went to heaven. Waiting for you is the Lord who says, "Well done faithful servant. Because of your faith, I'm going to grant you a very special privilege. You can choose one person who didn't make it to the kingdom and because you chose them I will let them in." WOW! Needless to say, you are flabbergasted. You have quite a decision to make.
Close family member? A good friend? What about someone you knew of who was well respected but didn't accept Christ? How can you possibly choose, knowing that your decision will affect the eternity of everyone you didn't select?
Interesting scenario but the choice was already made. Every man and woman on this earth is presented with a choice at some time or another. Accept Christ or reject Him. It sounds almost too simple but of course the Gospel is simple for a reason. I can't out think my neighbor and thus get to heaven. If I know the Lord then I should do everything in my power (and His) to make sure that my neighbor accepts Christ as well. The old gospel tract showing those in the boat trying to pull in others who are drowning is such a powerful image. We are in the boat. Our friends and relatives and neighbors are drowning.
That choice you had to make? It's already been made. Jesus made it in the Garden of Gethsemane. He walked that choice up to Calvary. He bled that choice on the cross. He died that choice of His own free will, as a perfect, unblemished sacrifice to His Father and ours.
God has given you a privilege because of your faith. It's a most incredible privilege to share the good news concerning Christ with a lost and dying world.
